What services do you offer?

Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Education

Where are you from?

I'm a seventh-generation Texan and have lived here my whole life! I grew up in Houston and also enjoyed living in Abilene and Galveston for four years each. I now call Dallas home, and love raising my family here.

Share a bit about family.

My husband, Zack, and I met the second day of college and have been married since December 2013. We have a daughter, Jordan and are awaiting our second child! We also hope to keep growing our family!

What is one of your greatest joys of being a doula?

I love seeing the strength of mothers and fathers as they work as partners, whether in the preparation for birth, the birth itself, or the postpartum period. Seeing them break through fear, support each other, get to know their babies, and deepen the sacred bond that families share is so incredible, and it's an honor to be invited into those moments.

What is something you are most proud of?

My own family relationships. Being a wife and mother, daughter, and sister are the biggest blessings in my life, and I am genuinely proud of the ways my family has chosen love and commitment to each other in so many ways.

What is something new you tried recently and loved?

I recently started trying to take a walk every morning, and it's been really refreshing! I'm enjoying getting my day started in a different way, and exploring my neighborhood on foot.

What makes you stand out as a doula?

My top strengths which include:
• Input – I am always collecting information, ideas, and resources to help you.
• Strategic – I strive to bring a deep sense of peace to every encounter with my clients, whether at a birth, during postpartum support, or during the childbirth education process. Fear, anxiety, and overwhelm have gone hand-in-hand with birth and parenthood for too long; I believe I can help impart a sense of calm, confidence, peace, and power to every family I serve. On the practical side, this means paying attention to your needs, your emotions, and your heart, and meeting you with support.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Scandinavia! I would love to see the northern lights and modern architecture, and experience the incredible nature.

What did you do before becoming a doula?

When I felt called became a certified doula and childbirth educator, I was already spending my time in supporting women and families in ways I'm still passionate about–becoming a doula was an exciting natural addition. I was a health and wellness coach, and volunteering my time with women in a Christian inner healing ministry. Both roles have helped me support clients in a more well-rounded way and with more empathy.

Last question, what are a couple of your favorite hobbies?

Cooking, reading, (very beginner level) sewing, taking nature walks with my daughter, and trying new restaurants with my husband.
